#3 National Unicorn Day

Sheffield could be full of dangers for an unsuspecting unicorn! After only spending a few days here, it seems she had been noticed by a few interested individuals, such as Inspector Fox who boxed her twice already for questioning, but there’s no point explaining magic to a muggel! As a result, Fox limited her access to some parts of town.

She also met the dreadful Christian Szurbo, he’s a fishmonger on Sharrow Vale rd, or in fact, that’s his cover. In reality, he is a unicorn hunter, and he already got the Red Deer

So the Unicorn, unwilling to waste time in administrative technicalities with the local authorities, thought it’d be a great idea to introduce herself to the Police chiefs. She was only greeted by a few shocked faces before everyone disappeared in the building! She couldn’t help but to ponder how very useful it was to train officers and spies on how to render themselves invisible! There was a mysterious message on the table saying “We don’t know how to deal with you!” …. which the Unicorn didn’t understand. She then put the chief’s hat on…..

Then something incredible happened! She got somehow teleported into a magical land! It was all as if she was having a powerful vision that all the while felt so real! As if she were living in her own magic! The message was crystal clear! She should represent herself in the forthcoming Mad-hatter election! …. Vote Unicorn! …..she could almost hear the crowd chanting! ….. She can even see herself proclaiming her favorite moto:  “In glitter we thrust!”….

She then followed the white rabbit to get back to the front of the magic mirror. She knew.

When she came out, Santa and Unknown Person were here to take her out and celebrate #Nationalunicornday . That was much inexpected but so much fun! And she got invited to a few event along the way! She is apparently to be expected at the central plazza soon and got a ticket to go see the Hot Rods !

So they dropped Person Unknown a bit further….nobody ever knows what he’s up to…

Unicorn decided Jonny must be a good person, she’ll let him stroke her unicorn. And then they’ll be on their way.

#2 Unicrawl

Chapter 2

With her peace and magical energy restored, the Unicorn decided to return to the dangerous streets of Sheffield, haunted by the Snow Catcher from Amey plc… who she didn’t miss to encounter! She was lucky to notice an entrance to the underground world of Sheffield on her left…… The catcher was getting critically close!

The “cremorne” it was called. She decided to discreetly mix with the indigenous crowd and found to her surprise that the people here were very loving, a bit too much perhaps….. So she tried their fancy mud-colored water so as to investigate, and the night turned bright as she realised she could carry out her mission with much ease, and even a finger in the nose!

She thought those public houses things could be a good place to play her music!

And as by a miraculous coincidence, just as she was having this particular idea, it seemed the universe conspired to have led her horseshoes to a place that appeared to be just waiting for her to express her message.

What a curious place it was, the “green room” in the Devonshire quarter of the safe for now side of Sheffield. She didn’t have much time but gathered very useful informations on the locals magical potions, the ones named “Baracus” and “Monty Python Flying Circus” really drew her attention. She also learned that a big festival is coming up in the city! This would certainly be a great opportunity to spread her Unicorn Love!

So better get practising! And off she trots to the “Greystones” for another Open Mic!

She took the time to pay her respects to what seemed to be local divinities going by the names of Pete McKee and David Lynch as Billy told her at the end of the night, after charming her with the piano and making her forget who she had only ever been attached to (with a rope) before him…. Billy was very kind.

When she woke up, she felt somehow invigorated with such a happy vibe she fierily roamed the streets in search of anything that would give her a buzz!

There was so much Art on her tour, she spent much time pausing so to admire it! She made sure to remember Jarvis Cocker’s face, just in case! Then, out of nowhere, someone came to give her a “glitter it yourself” Toy that resembled her own shape……. very strange.

She decided to call it a day, and that in order to truly further her understanding of this world, she will have to explore even stranger places….. until then. stay safe.

Let there be Unicorn!

Chapter 1

Once upon a time, A Unicorn!

She happened just like that! Her mission was to spread the Love….. yeah, just like that! She decided to record some tunes to help rally people to her crusade.

It was so late when she finished, she was exhausted, but took this as an opportunity to discover sheffield by night… considering she would get arrested if she gets seen there by Amey’s troups. DumberDore, the Evil Master of the City, imposes the rule of ignorance from her dark dungeon in the Arborthorns ward of Hogfield!

She got very scared and angry by what she witnesses in those dark streets where the moonlight casts the frightening shadows of the dead Elm tree trunks! As she needed to compose herself from the fear arising within, she noticed a shining light from what seemed a busy underground place….

 It’s a trap! What a shock! They feed corn to the chickens here! What a dangerous place to be for a Unicorn! Get ya Hood on Unicorn and get the glitt’ outta here!

The Unicorn teleported straight back to her safe place for an out of time meditation on how to bring magic back to Sheffield. She restored her inner peace which had been much troubled by her fresh experience on Earth, and she is very muhuhuhuhuch looking forward to explore some Hallmarks of Sheffield Underground Music scene next time!

Let’s Hear it

We have been a tad silent on publications here recently, you know what they say eh! “either write something worth reading…. or live something worth writing about…!”.

So there has been a lot of activities that my various selves have been undertaking. Please bear with us while we restructure our projects priorities. For now and before introducing correctly the unicorn (wth?*) …. yeah you read right….. So first things first, The event below will feature our musical self and much rehearsals and open mics etc have drawn our time and energies.

Much thanks to Tommy Binks of Twoteas records who kindly recorded 4 of our tracks on a casually mad afternoon….. and probably regretted having ever proposed the idea!

Sheffield Women of Wood

Since our poetic self is banned from attending the ecocide happening in our soon to be grey-city, it means I can watch from home a lot of distressing videos from the protest sites in Sheffield…… and because there is no point moaning at my screen, here’s my homage to the women protestors who keep coming up with very creative ideas to bring ridicule to the situation.

The saga continues in Sheffield, with more new words to teach our future children! Now the Police has invited Amey plc in their control room with views develop techniques to use on fracking protestors. We are loving it in Sheffield. My poet self is still on bail but a roundabout performance is on the way….. although swapping corporate entertainment for coporate* entertainment wouldn’t really fit my schedule and plans. To create everyday #7

Catching up with my current serie of excerpts,this piece is already a few weeks old! The last week or so have seen quite a few things developing, as I am now officially a poet on bail! As such, and to catch up with my duties, and before beginning a new serie, I should publish here and now the 7th excerpt of th Raven’s Forgotten and Unpublished Grimoire #RFUG7 . Ameyrica II Ameyndments

So here we are again, in the street of ex-leafy Sheffield, where I am not allowed because on bail….. which hopefully will soon be amended to allow me to collect more artistic evidence from the incredible one-in-a-lifetime human experience in the making there (albeit a 100m from work zones…… but possibly with a megaphone!).

This is the second parchment of words and their definition that we have recollected from our anthropological excursions in the Stump city. Enjoy

#Ameyrica’s ameyndments

So today, and because there has been much happening lately in the streets of Sheffield, most of which by the way I have been banned from walking through weekdays 9 to 5! I indeed have been arrested (/targeted?) on claims that I assaulted 3 twicemesized bouncers who were reasonably twisting my fingers. So now, I cannot exercise my right to peacefully demonstrate and therefore get a lot of inspiration on site.

So here are a few new words we created to express our utmost disagreement with the way Sheffield city council, Amey plc and South Yorkshire Police are interacting with us, the people, the neighbours, the families, the lawful citizens.

Hope you’ve enjoyed this short list. there will probably be another parchment soon, we’ve been much creative and are now having a hard time limiting the list!

Verbal obstruction

There has been a little break with the publishing for a few days now, we are still here! We have survived a computer crash due to a faulty ram that probably didn’t like the last coffee spill! And also we have been getting quite busy in the snowy streets of Sheffield building a new set of protest songs to keep our voices warm on site while my frozen and insensitive fingers bleed on my guitar…

We have just now updated massively the musical section of this website and added the 3 latest tracks from the new set (although the first one needs to be published at some point….. Amey cmon gimme a rest man!
